AY.com, one of the artist I discovered this summer, is definitely an artist to look out for. My first exposure to his work was his track titled “Baba Kunle”; very hilarious track. Born Ayoola Johnson, AY.com has been in the game since 1996 but didn’t make a professional mark till 2004. Although he began his path to academic success by enrolling at Olabisi Onanbanjo University, he left this path to fulfill his true passion: music. In the last quarter of 2008, he released a video titled “Gbasibe” which received great commendation from the likes of 9ice and Ajasa.
His most recent hit off his self-titled album: “Pass me your love” featuring Terry G (on the track and beat) is a club banger. This hit is definitely one every one can relate to and Terry G killed it with him. This is one song that will be blasting at every Naija party if it hasn’t already!! His album features collaboration with artists such as Timaya, 2Shotz, K-show and AB-1.
This is definitely one artist to look out for in 2009 and beyond!
