Ripstar is an upcoming artist who grew up to developing an addiction to music, regardless of genre. Here’s what he has to say about himself:
“Growing up in Lagos Nigeria, I developed such an addiction to music, regardless of genre. Micheal Jackson, Kool and the gang, the Comodores, Tina Turner, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Bob Marley to name a few helped to shape my young mind musically. I stumbled across hip-hop the right way, thanks to Krs-One, The pharcyde, Naughty by Nature, even Skee-lo, I was probably 7 or 8 years old just looking in awe at what these guys were doing at the time. It just amazed me how some one rhyming or talking to a melody could sound like music and still does today. When I was twelve this was around the golden era, I decided to start writing myself. Hip-Hop beacame a hobby for me, heating up cyphers in school, freestyling in hallways etc. Hip-Hop has really given me a whole new outlook on music in general. This I acquired when I mastered the concept of flow meaning I could rap on pretty much any kind of beat. This now has me eager to play with and pick from different genres of music, there is so much out there to be explored in terms of sound for me to just confine myself into one small box. I am on an independent label known as “Musical Edge Records” or “Medge Records”. But for now I am trying to get a degree in engineering at Bristol University. I don’t know which direction my life will take in the near future but I am so eager to find out. But please remember the name RIPSTAR and oh yeah tell a friend…..lol“
I personally like the “I love girls” track and have it featured in the Coffee Break compilation! I definitely see great potential here!

Ok let’s not start something here. Ripstar is well and alive to my knowledge.
