Born Ifueko Ayomide Alonge, El Faco is a native of Lagos, Nigeria. An early beginner in the art of music, he began writing songs at the age of 8 and by the age of 10, had written his first play. Moving to London later on, he was heavily influenced by the Roc-A-Fella era, Mobb Deep and The L.O.X., as well as Neo-Soul and Afro-beat music. He started putting out music under BeMe Ent after meeting up and forging a friendship with rapper ‘Beazy’ (while in the UK), and created a buzz in the university circuit with songs like ‘Gimme That’, ‘Game on Lock’, and ‘Make Way’, among others. Now standing on his own (having created 3rd World Funk with partner T Quizzy), he hopes to step out and carve his own footprints in the sands of time.
With a flow and style like his, there’s no doubt he’ll be ranked amongst the Nigerian hip-hop heads soon. Though the tracks below are freestyles to tracks by Jay Z, I look forward to him dropping a culturally influenced track: a track fused with a tribal language or featuring an artist who can flow in such.
Listen to “I’m ill”
Listen to “Cuz I’m African”
Listen to “Talk Shit Freestyle”
