To many, Jedi is a comedian and if you’ve seen him perform, there’s no doubt that he is good at it. Well, he’s also a music artist and actually good at it as well. Talk about being a multi-talented act. If you had the chance to attend the NRC reunion in NYC this year, you most likely saw him delivering the best of both worlds: comedy and music.
Referred to by many as “The Well Fed Comedian,” Jedi, a man born with the gene of entertainment, is the second in a family of 3 children. Though he studied Microbiology at the Lagos State University, it wasn’t until 1991 that he discovered another part of being a comedian after given the opportunity to M.C at a University concert. Following this success, he handled a comedy segment that lasted for two years with Ayo Makinde & Dele Agadumo a.k.a Christol on Eko 89.75 FM on the program “Make it happen”.
This well sought after comedian has performed on numerous platforms across the globe, sharing the stage with the likes of Ali Baba, Julius Agwu, Okey Bakassi, Owen Gee, Basket Mouth, Wale Gates, Seyi Brown and many more.
As a mentor to upcoming comedians, he organized a professional seminar for those who have decided to take up a career in the entertainment industry. As expected, he has been nominated for many awards which includes but not limited to Best Up-Coming Comedian National Comedy Awards 2006, Best Comedian of the year for the Dynamix Awards 2006, 2007 & 2008, and Best Comedian of the year for Nigeria Entertainment Award 2008.
Jedi is also the current Presenter/Quizmaster of the most watched TV game show MTN TEXTAMANIA.
In 2007 Jedi embarked on his first solo album (G-Pikin Project) which was released in July of 2009. Fans have referred to his songs as “feel good music” others have called it “Gospel with an inspirational vibe.” Below is his latest single: LasGidi boy. There’s no doubt in my mind that he’s here to make his mark and as he embarks further on his journey into the music arena, he’s someone to have on your radar. We have him on ours!
