Repping Iceberg Slim!
Rep Naija Artists is proud to REP their FIRST producer, artist, performer, and CEO combo: Iceberg Slim, a.k.a Mr International!!

Iceberg Slim, CEO of Afrigang Ent., is another artist I had the pleasure of watching perform on stage this summer! Awesome performer! Dude is FIRE!!
Iceberg, the youngest of four kids, was born and raised by Nigerian parents in Bronx, NY and exposed to a totally different lifestyle right from childhood: trying to balance the Nigerian culture with the streets of NY. He turned to his paper and pen as a means to voice himself and the rest is now history. From poetry to rap, Iceberg had many years of experience writing and rapping under his belt before deciding to be on the other side of the mixing board. From engineering to music production, he has many influences from the Nigerian music scene, pop, reggae, rock, jazz and old school hip-hop. This explains the origin of his unique song, why his rhymes are so sick and his flow so smooth! While he still raps and produces, he’s slowly venturing into the business side of things with a hot resume! Iceberg Slim definitely knows the power of hard work and perseverance. The first time I ever saw Iceberg perform was at the 2006 NRC Nigerian Reunion in Atlanta, and he has been soaring to greater heights since then.
Iceberg continues to bless many stages across and outside the country ranging from Chicago to Toronto, Canada. He has also shared the stage with the likes of many credible and talented artists such as D’Banj, 9ice, 2Face, Sauce Kid, eLDee, and Blak Jesus. His producer resume is also impressive. He has produced tracks for some established artists such as Sauce Kid, as well as many rising stars such as Ezzie B., Rico White, AG Man, Bayou and NL3. He has also featured Alapomeji artist Zara, on “Action (Touch my Body)”, and has been featured on songs such as eLDee’s Big Boy (Rap version) and Wande Coal’s Bananas remix.
Iceberg is such a great MC, not just on his own songs but also on songs he’s featured on. There has not been a track to date that Iceberg has been featured on that he hasn’t murdered! For example, listen to elDee’s Big Boy (Rap version)
Iceberg went home with the 2009 Best International Artist award at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards! Congrats! This award spun off the hit song: Mr International. So many things have been speculated such as a freestyle/rap battle between him and M.I amongst other things due to specific lines in this song as seen below. Who knows? Only time will tell. You be the judge! Don’t be surprised if you see them grace the stage together though!
I am tired of the same ol’ question that they all ask about me
Am I better than M.I?
I don’t know. Am I?
Matter of fact, you should ask M.I
***Update***
M.I recently released his track: “Somebody wants to die” for which Iceberg figured he’ll be responsible for the “Assassination”. Could this really be a controversy brewing? Who knows? You be the judge. Listen to this free style track below.
